A Quality Parish Council.

We are pleased to have been awarded Quality Status by the National Association of Local Councils on the basis of the evidence submitted about our work methods and recent achievements. Now we hope to be able to take the Power of Well Being to enable us to do more for the village.

Office opening hours week beginning March 1^st.

We apologise that the Highwood Road office will not be open for visitors during this week. However please note that the Police Surgery at 2.30pm on Tuesday March 2^nd will take place at the office as planned.

Village Diary

Event organisers are reminded that a wall chart in Best Sellers Bookshop in Brookley Road may be used to plan dates and avoid clashes with other events.
Additionally on a top menu tab of this web page there is a link to the Village Diary. This is an electronic diary "What's on?" page for community events. It is allows anyone to promote a forthcoming event or register the date of a future planned event. It is easy to use and can be edited as required by user as details change.

Watercourses - An important reminder

It has been a very wet winter and landowners are reminded of the need to keep watercourses clear to avoid local flooding. It is of paramount importance that ditches and watercourses are kept clear. Householders often do not realise that it is their legal responsibility to keep the ditches bounding their property clear so that the rainwater can run off to the rivers instead of flooding. We are aware of some ditches have been filled in and sheds built on top of them which causes the water to back up. More details of flood issue and drainage responsibilities can be found here.
