RESPONSIBLE FINANCE OFFICER AND
CLERK TO THE
PLANNING COMMITTEE
Brockenhurst Parish Council seeks to appoint a Responsible
Finance Officer, who will also be the Clerk to the planning committee.
The main objective of the role is to ensure the effective
control of all the Council’s financial affairs, including payroll, and both
internal and external audit. The successful applicant will preferably hold an
accounting qualification e.g. AAT Level 4 and will be fully conversant with
commercial accounting software. Experience of Management and Year End Accounts
is essential and a knowledge of local government and charity accounting would
be an advantage.
The role will also include being the clerk to the planning
committee. Duties will involve collating information for the monthly agenda, attendance
at the meetings and typing the minutes. Along with submission of the committee’s
recommendation to the NFNPA planning authority.
This is a part-time position working between 15 - 20 hours
per week, office and working from home, if required. Attendance at some evening meetings will be
required so a flexible approach is needed. Remuneration commences at NALC pay
scale 17, which is currently £15.58 per hour with the opportunity to join the
Local Government Pension Scheme and pro-rata statutory holiday
entitlement.
